Where can I find the list of quizzes that are available for earning points at St. Angela?

A list of quizzes can be found on the Renaissance Learning website @ www.arbookfind.com. Check the list regularly if you are looking for new books as it is updated as new quizzes are written.

When and where do I take the quizzes?

Students may take quizzes during computer class or in the library during the school day when computer time is available.

Are tests available for books that SAM does not have in the library?

Yes, many quizzes are available for books not in our library. Many of the quizzes are for books that are housed in the individual classroom libraries or your home library. It is best to check out the quiz list on the Renaissance Learning website frequently to get a more comprehensive look at what is available.

Is it okay to give my password to another student?

Your password is confidential and it is strictly against the rules to log on with someone else’s password. Violation of this rule or any other dishonest behavior related to Accelerated Reader could result in loss of points and/or removal from the program for the rest of the year.

How do I earn tickets to be redeemed at the AR Prize Cart?

Each book is assigned a point value based on the difficulty level. Points are earned by reading books in your reading zone and passing the quizzes with 70% or above. A report of accumulated points will be given to your reading teacher on a regular basis and she will give you tickets corresponding to your points.

Where can I find information about the available incentives?

The information about incentives can be found on the school website.

How will I know when the Prize Cart is open?

Watch the school bulletin on Mondays and the website for a schedule. The cart will be open on designated Fridays during both upper grade and lower grade recesses.

Can I take quizzes outside of my reading zone?

Independent reading should be within a Student’s Individual Reading Zone to earn points.

When do I redeem the special passes that I purchase from the incentive booth?

AR Cart Days are scheduled each month. The final cart day in May will be announced at a later date. All points earned within the school year must be used by the last cart day or they are forfeited.
