PRINCIPAL’S CORNER

Happy Catholic Schools Week!  Catholic Schools Week helps us to remember why Catholic education is so important.  It reminds us of our mission at St. Angela Merici School:  to educate the whole child, by encouraging growth in faith and spirit, body and mind, self-discipline and responsibility.

We strive to achieve the goals of St. Angela Merici School, which are:
To teach children to live the Gospel message of Christ in order to make wise and moral decisions as they face the challenges of growing up in today’s world.
To provide an integrated curriculum that meets the needs of all students and prepares them with the base of knowledge needed to be successful in high school and beyond.
To provide students with a family-like atmosphere in which development of positive self-esteem flourishes.

It also is a good time to reflect upon some of our alumni success as well.   For example, did you know that St. Angela Merici alumni were Valedictorian or Co-Valedictorians:   Courtney Pinac, Mount Carmel 2007; Aimee Plaisance, Mount Carmel 2008; Chris Kliebert, Rummel 2009 and Steven Lowe, Brother Martin 2009.  What a great testimony to the committed faculty and staff at St. Angela Merici School!

Please read the bulletin carefully since it is such a busy week:
Grandparents’ Day is Wednesday, February 3rd for A – L and Thursday, February 4th for M-Z.  The picture envelopes for Grandparents Day were distributed today.  Please send the envelopes with the Grandparents if they are taking pictures.  We look forward to welcoming the grandparents to school!
Friday, February 5 Black and Gold Dress Down Day to help support our SAINTS on their way to the Super Bowl!  We also have a 1:45 pm dismissal.

Middle School Parents:   Please note that cumulative 9-weeks exams will not be held at the end of the 3rd 9-weeks due to the timing of standardized testing and other school events.  Exams will resume in the 4th 9-weeks.
