WHY CHOOSE ST. ANGELA MERICI?

    6) Almost one-third of the families who have children currently enrolled at St. Angela Merici also attended as youngsters themselves, a great testament to our school's solid Catholic foundation, academic excellence and family-friendly atmosphere.

   1) St. Angela Merici School is conveniently located in a safe and quiet Metairie neighborhood.  With an enrollment of about 400 students, St. Angela Merici has two sections of each grade level, which fosters for our family-friendly atmosphere.

   2) St. Angela Merici School has received many grants for technology that included funds to replace and update laptops and desktops throughout the school.   Lower grade teachers have the use of document camera in the classrooms. While our upper grade teachers have the use of interactive boards in their classrooms.  We have just recently introduced our parents to Edline. Edline is one way our parents and students can stay up-dated on test, projects or other classroom activities. .

     5) St. Angela Merici has a large variety of extracurricular activities to offer each student and have been district and/or city champs for many of our sports teams. Robotics and Chess Club are available for those analytical minds. For those who are interested in the arts, we have an excellent play every spring. Here students can participate both in front or behind stage. School leadership activities such as the Jr. Beta Club and Student Council are offered. We are also home to one of metro area's most active scouting programs.

Prospective Parents are invited to learn more about St. Angela School at Open House to be held on Thursday, January 19th at 7:00 p.m.  We will meet in the Kern Center (see map layout)

   7) About half of the faculty/staff members have or have had children/ and/or grandchildren attend St. Angela Merici School.

   3) St. Angela Merici offers a Challenge Program, a multi-disciplinary program for qualified accelerated students in Grades 2-5.

   4) St. Angela Merici offers BUG (Bring Up Grades) club to enrich students' self-esteem.
