April Cub Scout Theme: “Abracadabra”
Cub Scouts love to amaze and be amazed! Boys discover secrets of the magician's art this month as they demonstrate magical illusions and learn new tricks with cards, coins and other everyday objects. The Cub Scout Magic Book is a great resource for age-appropriate tricks and puzzles. Visit a magic shop or have a magician come to your den or pack meeting to teach the boys a few tricks of the trade.
End of Scout Year Fast Approaching
We have but one Pack event left after our U.S.S. Kidd sleepover, and that would be our annual End-of-Year Blue and Gold Banquet. This year for the Blue and Gold we will shake things up a bit with a Pot Luck Dinner, so get your specialty dishes ready!
I hope everyone has had a great year in their Dens and has had a fun and educational time with our monthly Pack activities! Soon we will be sending out registration forms for our 2 summertime events: The Lakeside Country Club swim and pizza party, and the Zephyr’s baseball game. Please return these with your registration fee ASAP to secure your spot.
Sign up sheets to be dispersed soon. Don’t be late, as this trip will also be limited in reservations and will be first come, first served. St. Angela will have the entire ship booked with both Cub and Girl Scouts. When we send out the sign up sheets, don’t be late!
Scout Mass
Next Scout Mass: April 13th, 9:30 am (please line up @ 9:15)
Donuts afterward!
Achievements
Please continue to work on Achievements. Our next awards will be given out in May at the Blue and Gold Banquet.
Religious Achievements
Each Scout should be working towards a Religious Achievement. Janis Bonura can help direct you to info on the ones appropriate to your Den, or you can visit the council website www.bsa-selacouncil.org.
Parent’s Meeting
Parent’s Meetings are a great way to find out what’s going on in the Pack and to provide insight and communication (get your voice heard!). We need AT LEAST ONE parent from each den to attend - the more parents that attend, the better the meeting.
Our next Parent’s Meeting will primarily focus on preparations for the Blue and Gold Banquet, summer events, and new events for next year. All parents are welcomed and encouraged to attend these planning and informational meetings.
