Hamburger and Hotdog Social March 25th
While we will not require Scouts to sell tickets for this event, we do need everyone to help market the lunch in order to make it successful. We plan on serving from 11:00am to 2:oopm.
It was decided in our Parent’s Meeting that the Den and Pack Leaders will be asked to work the event along with requesting the help of a few non-leader Parents (who will be contacted individually).
Since we are not requiring the help of the entire Pack, we are asking that each Den make up a flyer announcing the event, and each family print and distribute 20 copies. This can be used as part of earning an achievement such as “salesmanship”. These flyers will be used in two ways:
1)To distribute to doors/mailboxes in the neighborhoods immediately surrounding St. Angela
2) To pass out to several grade levels within the school as listed below on
3/21 or 3/22 for maximum impact.

The flyer should contain:
Name of the event: “Cub Scout Hamburger and Hotdog Social”
Date and time: 3/25/07, 11am – 2pm
Menu: Lunch of one hamburger (or 2 hotdogs), condiments, chips and a drink
Location: St. Angela Merici School Gym (Kern Center)

Den Leaders, please coordinate this process with your Dens. Go about it any way you choose!
******We are asking each child to bring in his Pinewood Derby car and trophy, ribbon, or certificate from past races to display on the stage the day of the Social. This will give everyone a taste of what we are working towards.
Percy Quin Campout and Pack Meeting April 20-22
Get your tent ready, start checking your gear, and make the list of supplies you will need for our first outdoor campout since Katrina. We will cookout on our BBQ pit and hold a Pack Meeting, awarding Achievements. No cooks will be turned away! Info to come in the April Newsletter regarding costs and menu for the weekend.
Last call for Sailboat Regatta Coordinator
If we don’t have one by the April Parent’s Meeting, the Sailboat Regatta will be cancelled!

We have lots of wonderful folks lending their time and talents so that it isn’t too hard on any one person. Won’t you please help? Please get involved!

Scout Mass
Next Scout Mass: March 11th – Pensacola N.A.S
For those not attending Pensacola: St. Angela, March 11th, 9:30 am (please line up @ 9:15) Donuts afterward!
Achievements
Please continue to work on Achievements. Our next awards will be given out in March at the Pensacola Campout. Following that, we will hold a Pack Meeting and awards presentation at Percy Quinn in April.
Religious Achievements
Each Scout should be working towards a Religious Achievement. Rhen and Christine can help direct you to info on the ones appropriate to your Den, or you can visit the council website www.bsa-selacouncil.org.
Parent’s Meeting
Den Leaders:
We had 4 attendees at the last meeting. Cubmaster, 2 Den leaders and one Assistant Den leader. That means that half of the Pack was not represented. We need ONE representative from each DEN! Please insure this happens as we are making Pack decisions with an extremely small minority of opinions.
We have only 2 Parent’s Meetings left for the current school year! Our next Parent’s Meeting will primarily focus on preparations for the April Percy Quinn Campout. All parents are welcome and encouraged to attend these planning and informational meetings.
Next Parents Meeting: April 5th, 7:30 pm
******Bill Hamblin’s House*******
Cub Calendar
We now have the calendar online at www.stangelaschool.org. This will be updated based on availability of attractions and scheduling considerations. Always check this Newsletter for important changes and ultimately with your Den leader for updated dates, times and schedules of specific events. We also publish reminders in the School Newsletter so look for “Cub Scout News” in every Monday Edition!
2007-2008 Scout Calendar in Process
Father Ken has given all organizations that utilize church and school facilities a deadline of March 12th to submit their 2007-2008 Calendar. That planning will be in process this week.
However, we will have wiggle room on off-campus activities and dates. As I plan for next year’s Pack activities, I will take suggestions from the Pack parents as to what you would like to repeat, add, or exclude before the final calendar is published. Please send those comments to bhambli@concofoods.com prior to 3/9/07. Majority rules!
