GOAL:
The Student Council is a leadership as well as a service organization at St. Angela Merici School.

MEMBERS:
Two Student Council members are elected by each homeroom in grades 5th through 8th.  

REQUIREMENTS:
- Maintain 2.5 GPA quarterly
- Maintain conduct grade of A or B (not B-)
- Must consider yourself a positive role model
- Must attend all meetings, usually held at lunchtime
- Must work all activities such as school fair, fish fries, concession stand, etc. as needed
- Must participate in bake sales/ fund raisers

ELECTIONS:
Eligible students must complete a Student Council Application and return to Mrs. Bourqe in early September.  Elections are held mid-September.

OFFICERS:
Student Council Officers (President, Vice-President, Secretary and treasurer) are elected by all 5th through 8th grades in mid-September.  The president and vice-president positions are held by 8th graders.  Secretary and treasurer are held by 7th or 8th graders.

If you run for office and are not elected, you will remain as a representative on the Student Council.

DON'T THROW THIS AWAY!
The Student Council continues to collect empty inkjet cartridges, laser cartridges and used cell phones. 

Please bring to school office.  These cartridges are returned for recycling and the Student Council earns money.
The monies are used for purchasing classroom items.
GOAL:

  • Raise money in January and February for Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
  • Clean up at Fair and Fish Fries.
  • Run concession stand at ball games.
  • Recycle inkjet cartridges and printer cartridges.

With the money raised we have purchased the following:
  • White Boards
  • Overheads
  • Overhead carts
  • Teacher Appreciation Lunches
  • Cork Boards
