RELIGIOUS EDUCATION
In fact, to enhance the Catholicity of St. Angela Merici School, all teachers, whether they formally teach Religion or not, are working toward Religious Education certification. This is part of the commitment to integrate Religion throughout the curriculum.
In addition to formal religious instruction, many projects during the year enhance the students’ religious education:
- School wide prayer and reflection at the beginning and end of each day
- Sacramental preparation
- Service projects
- Self-esteem programs
- School Masses
- Lenten Mission program
- Seasonal devotions
- Adoration and Benediction on First Fridays
- Retreat days for selected grade levels
- Role playing and skits to enhance learning
- School prayer services

Saint Angela Merici School offers a pre-Kindergarten 3 year old program through seventh grade elementary program and is affiliated with the Archdiocese of New Orleans.

Dear Parents,
Thank you for your interest in St. Angela Merici School. As you read through the enclosed information, the philosophy of St. Angela will be evident:
St. Angela Merici School has been educating and forming children in the area for more than 37 years and continually strives for the complete development of the whole child: spiritually, emotionally, academically, socially and physically. The main goals of St. Angela Merici School are as follows:
To teach children to live the Gospel message of Christ in order to make wise and moral decisions as they face the challenges of growing up in today’s world.
To provide an integrated curriculum that meets the needs of all students and prepares them with the base of knowledge needed to be successful in high school and beyond.

RELIGIOUS EDUCATION
The religious education program at St. Angela Merici School is given top priority. The goal is to form Christian boys and girls who can make good moral decisions as they grow to maturity. The parish has a Director of Religious Education who collaborates with the principal to coordinate all religious activities within the school.
The school provides a sequential program of Religion taught by qualified teachers.
