Our Students’ Community Involvement Expands to Haiti

Over 200 students and their families at Our Lady of Mercy, located in Virgile, Haiti, enjoyed a Christmas dinner thanks to donations of St. Angela Merici students and teachers. Students purchased bracelets to secure funds to provide the meal. Children at Our Lady of Mercy Parish School, as in many other parishes in Haiti, receive their basic necessities, including meals, from school. The current conditions in Haiti make it unsafe for the students to attend school. The pastor considered the meal of rice, beans and chicken a feast for the impoverished children, who are growing up in a country gripped by turmoil. We are hoping to form a long-term relationship with Our Lady of Mercy to help provide necessities on an ongoing basis. St. Angela Merici strives to give our students a wide range of opportunities to help serve communities near and far.
